DK Find Out is free and has a very appealing clean look to it. Even though, it is being offered to you at no charge, it is not riddled with advertisements and pop-ups that are seen in many free websites. I merely searched the term “cats” and an abundance of articles appear, but the best part is that these article names are accompanied by photographs. This is extremely appealing to younger students and teachers wanting to expose their young students to research. That is not all, once you click on an actual topic to view the article, there are additional photographs that are related to your search. Some of these photographs are clickable and include additional information about the image. This website is perfect for younger students and will have them clicking away to learn more about each topic through these interactive photographs. There are also thirteen engaging subjects for students to search through at the top of the website. Videos accompany many articles for additional information. The main feature that I find this resource lacking is an option to easily cite the articles that you are viewing. I know that this website is created for the use of younger students, but you can easily teach younger students that it is important to cite your sources when researching and they would understand this concept starting at a young age. The site offers information for teachers and parents as well. The fact that this site can be accessed using any computer, tablet or phone is extremely appealing.
