I commonly use dictionary.com when I am in need of a definition. This is a free website with a lot to offer. This webpage has the most memorable web address, and I have yet to be disappointed by its ability to find the definition of a specific word that I am in need of. The site is easy to use and has a quick option for citing your source. I appreciate that when you search a word the definition shows up written in black and then you see the option for viewing the thesaurus in orange and the origin or examples in blue. These options stand out because of the different font colors. When you scroll down on the original search you are able to view the origin of the word on a map. This is a terrific visual of where the origin of the word began. When you scroll further down on the page there are examples of the word being used with the sources names and dated. Similar to other sites, this website allows you to share words on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
The homepage has a word of the day, grammar tips, and engaging articles at the bottom of the homepage. I noticed that there is also an option to browse the dictionary by letter at the very bottom of the homepage. Accelerate | Define Accelerate at Dictionary.com. (n.d.).
